I got alot done this month. I got my state business license and launched my new website, http://www.microscopicpuppy.com/. I still need to apply for a city business license though and I'll do that soon. After my 2 week vacation to visit family far far away I'm going to start looking for illustration jobs @ online marketplaces. I also may need to work part-time doing something else to generate income at the beginning; hopefully I can find something art-related. I bought a great book about small business advice - The E Myth Revisited; much of it just does not apply to me but some of it really has helped. I have to admit I'm not looking forward to book-keeping or being my own agent, but I feel I have no choice for now. I love the idea of working for myself, as hard as it will be. I love being in control of my work and my schedule.
I tweaked my Puppy logo into something better, but I eventually scrapped it and went for something a little more realistic and detailed although it still has a hint of cartoon feel. I've decided to check into children's book illustration because at this point I think my work would be really ideal for that market. I'm still working on my digital painting and am going to try to break into the fantasy art world, which is my ultimate goal as far as illustration markets are concerned. I still dream of making that animated short one day but it won't be anytime soon. One thing at a time! Overall I feel that things are happening slowly but surely, which isn't surprising and has been indicative of my cautious lifestyle lol. I feel ready for the future and change.
I recently have gotten into personality psychology and discovered that I am an infp personality type, which is pretty cool I think. Now I'm obsessed with typing my friends and family hehe. Google it, it's really interesting if you're the type to wonder why people act differently. I found a busy infp forum which is great, since I don't think I know any others in real life; We are rare apparently. Of course every individual is different; this typing process simply identifies which brain functions we tend to use more than others. Pretty cool :)
